Man and van in Oxford
Small loads, single items and student moves - one trip, fixed price.
A man and van - or a "man with a van" if that is how you searched for it - should be the cheap option, not the risky one. Every job is performed by a vetted transport partner meeting the insurance floors we set, coordinated by us end to end - same contract, same price, same point of contact. Fixed prices from £120.
What you get
Fixed price, not an hourly meter
You get one number before we go - not a clock that keeps running once the crew arrives.
Same-day and next-day slots
Call before 11am and we can usually cover it that afternoon.
Marketplace collections
Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Gumtree pickups - we go, we pay if you send funds, we deliver.
Two movers as standard
Not one person expecting you to lift the other end.
Priced the same way for a Northampton move, a Cheltenham and Gloucester move, a Birmingham move and a Bristol and Bath move.
What a man and van job actually costs
Every price is fixed before you book, not run on an hourly clock. A few items on a local run is priced as a band; a single collection or one odd large piece is priced from the callout figure below; a bigger loose load is priced by the volume it actually takes up.
| Job | Typical price | Crew and vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| A few items, local run | £120-£260 | 1 van, 2 movers |
| Single item or Marketplace collection | £85-£110 | Van + crew, no minimum load |
| Larger loose loads, by volume | £24-£34 per m³ | Sized to what you're moving |
Bands, not guesses - your price is fixed once you accept it, based on what you declare, not a survey. For larger or complex moves we may offer a free video survey to check it matches; it only changes if the job itself differs, and we tell you before continuing. If your plans change, your deposit is fully refundable when you cancel within 14 days of booking.

Man and van - the details
What size van do you send?
A Luton with a tail lift unless the job is tiny. It takes roughly the contents of a one-bedroom flat in a single load.
How is the price worked out for a small job?
The same fixed-band system as every move we price: tell us what you're moving and you get one number before you book, from £120 for our smallest 'few items' band. No clock, no surprise total.
Can you collect something I have bought?
Yes. Send us the listing and the seller's postcode and we will price it as a single-item move.
How much does a man and van cost?
From £120 for a few items on a local run, the same fixed-band system as every job we price. A single-item collection is costed from our callout figure, £85-£110, covering the crew and van arriving and loading; larger loose loads are priced by volume, from £24 a cubic metre.
Do you charge by the hour?
No - every job is a fixed band agreed before you book, not a clock that keeps running once the crew arrives. A few items locally starts from £120; volume and distance are what move the number, both priced in before you commit, never totted up on the day.
Is a man and van cheaper than a full removal?
For a small load, yes - a few items starts from £120 against a studio flat's £320-£460 on the same fixed-band system. Once you're moving more than a room's worth, a full removal usually works out better value: one flat crew and vehicle instead of several part-loads.
Can I book a man and van the same day?
Usually - call before 11am and we can often cover it that afternoon. You can also request a quote online. Same-day availability depends on capacity and is confirmed by our team.
