Removals work, with the money side handled

OX Removals is the customer's contracting party - moves are carried out by vetted transport partners like you, coordinated by OX Removals, under your own insurance, to floors we verify. When we have more work than vans, we pass jobs to other operators. The customer pays us, not you - we take a deposit up front and collect the balance before loading. You never chase a customer for money.

How it works

1. Get approved once

Send us your licence, your insurance and proof of your vehicle. We check them properly, because our name is on the job. You upload them once and we tell you when anything is close to expiring.

2. Take the work you want

Every job you can see shows where it is going, when, and what it pays you. New jobs open up to providers in stages rather than to everyone at once — see our provider terms for how — and a job needed at short notice opens up faster. Every job is buy-now, at a fixed payout stated up front. Nothing is allocated to you and nothing is compulsory.

3. Do the job, get paid

We collect from the customer - a deposit up front, the balance before loading. Your payout is recorded against the job the moment it is yours, and you never chase an end customer for it.

How claiming works

Fixed price, stated up front

Every job shows a fixed payout before you commit — no bidding, no guessing. What you see is what you're paid if you take it.

The price does not move once the job is listed.

Claim it, and it's yours

Once a job is visible to you, the first approved operator to claim it gets it. Your rating or a premium membership can move a job into your view sooner — see our provider terms for how.

Best when you want the work today.

Claiming a job costs one token. You keep the whole of the payout stated on the job — a token cost is never taken out of your payout; we make our margin separately, between what the customer pays and what you are paid. Full detail on tokens and payouts is in our provider terms. Payouts are made by bank transfer, typically within 10 days of a completed job.

Backloading

Tell us where you are already going and when, and we will show you jobs travelling the same way. A return leg that would have run empty is the cheapest work you will ever do.

What we need before you can claim a job

These are not negotiable, and we check them rather than take your word for it. If we get it wrong the customer comes to us, so we would rather be slow at this part.

  • A full UK driving licence, held at least a year — three years if you are under 22.
  • Commercial van insurance that covers hire and reward. This is the one that catches people out: ordinary business-use cover does not allow you to carry other people's goods for payment, and a lot of policies that sound right are not.
  • Goods in transit cover of at least £10,000.
  • Public liability cover of at least £1,000,000.
  • Proof of the vehicle you will actually turn up in.

Moving vehicles rather than household goods? Motor trade insurance replaces goods in transit for that work.

Being straight with you

This is new. We are not going to tell you how many jobs a week you will get or what you will earn, because we do not know yet and anyone who does tell you that is guessing.

What we can tell you is how it works: the customer pays us first, you see the payout before you commit, and nothing is allocated to you without you taking it.

You are working for yourself. Your fuel, your vehicle, your tax, your helper if you bring one.
